Lupin gets tentative USFDA nod

Lupin Ltd on Tuesday said that it has received tentative approval from the US FDA for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for Setraline Hydrochloride tablets in 25mg, 50mg and 100 mg. This is the company's 18th ANDA approval till date.

Setraline Hydrochloride tablet is used for the treatment of depressive disorders and will be the AB-generic equivalent of Pfizer's ZOLOFT tablets. The company plans on launching the generic on final approval, which is expected by February 2007. Shares of the company fell 0.20 per cent to close at Rs 610.85 on BSE.
