MetalJunction is now Mjunction Services

Kolkata , Jan. 3

India's largest e-commerce company, MetalJunction, is set for another round of name change. Beginning this month the company is rechristened as Mjunction Services Ltd (MSL).

Began its journey in 2002 as MetalJunction.Com Pvt Ltd, the Tata Steel - SAIL joint venture has changed its name as MetalJunction Services Ltd in 2004. This was keeping in tune with the broadbasing of the company's activities from merely an e-market place for steel or metals.

According to company sources, the activities are further broadbased during the last two years. In mining and metals, the company has extended its activities from on-line services provider to facilitator of complete physical infrastructure including warehouses, logistics and payment collection.

This apart, the company has successfully forayed into e-commerce of chemicals, FMCG products, coal, auto and most importantly the B2C segment whereby MSL is now selling branded steel products, aluminium sheets and cement.

"As we continue to grow we will enter new industry verticals, each of which may emerge as major business activities in the future. Accordingly we are now looking far beyond metals for our future growth which should be reflected in our name," a company official said.
