Hospital on rails begins operation

Life Line Express, the hospital on rails, which is being hosted by Tata Steel at Meramundali railway in Dhenkanal district of Orissa, started its operations on Wednesday, says a press release. This is the fourth occasion Tata Steel is hosting the Life Line Express in Orissa after Gopalpur, Daitari and Jaipur.

The hospital equipped with a modern operation theatre, which offers free diagnostic, medical and surgical treatment for prevention and curative interventions, will be stationed at Meramundali till January 25. The Life Line Express is an international initiative, which began in 1981 in England to prevent and cure avoidable disablement. Till date, Tata Steel has sponsored Life Line Express 11 times, the present being the twelfth occasion, adds the press release.
