Tuticorin Port sets new record in cargo handling

Tuticorin Port created a new record in cargo handling on January 1, 2007, by unloading 13,811 tonnes of muriate of potash (MOP) meant for Indian Potash Ltd in bulk from vessel mv.IVS Kanda in a single day.

The work was executed by using three powerful Port TRF grab cranes in three shifts. The previous record had been 10,431 tonnes from vessel mv.JIN FU, according to a press release.
