Coimbatore , Jan. 5

After saying quits to their job in Tata Consultancy Service, Mr R. Murali and four others floated `Accudocs Technologies,' a BPO firm in Coimbatore.

The firm commenced operations in July last with 70 people on its rolls. It has more than doubled the headcount in the last three months to touch 150.

Mr Murali, Chairman of Accudocs, told Business Line that his company is close to clinching a deal with a Chennai-based IT company for merging the two entities. Stating that it would be a `cash-less deal', he said the merger would facilitate marketing of Accudocs suite of products in Chennai market as well.

Range of products

"We provide IT services, our BPO division does claims processing. We are planning to expand into voice BPO services as well. The products division offers a suite of products targeted particularly at the manufacturing industry. We are into staffing and training services as well," he explained.

He said Accudocs intentionally stayed away from medical transcription service, because of the `mad scramble' for such professionals in this region. When asked why the team preferred to locate their unit here, he said, "It is a low cost destination today. The trainable talent pool is available here."

He said the firm has finalised a contract with a renowned company for supply of IT Risk Management professionals, but declined to elaborate the details.

Eyeing larger market

On products, he said, "We have developed products for total process maintenance, computerised maintenance management software and service management software. The product has already been rolled out. We intend to foray into the RFID and barcode space, and develop products in the BPO area as well."

According to him, the beta version of the process support tool is ready. "This can be used by any company that wishes to outsource back office operations."
