Outlook Blackberrys to consolidate retail presence Our Bureau
Chennai , Jan. 5 Premium menswear brand Blackberrys plans to consolidate its retail presence across the country involving an investment of Rs 45 crore. Apart from expanding its presence in multi-brand retail outlets, Blackberrys also plans 50 company-owned exclusive brand stores across the country. "We will invest around Rs 30 lakh per outlet and each store will be of 1,500 sq ft or above," said Mr Badal Chaudhry, General Manager - Sales & Marketing. According to him, at present Blackberrys trousers and jackets are available at over 400 multi-brand outlets and all Westside stores. It also has 22 exclusive brand stores in major cities. Of the proposed 50 stores, 15 will be in the South. "South is a big market for us and we are obviously looking at expanding our retail presence here. The expansion will also be supported with an aggressive marketing campaign," Mr Aditya Joshi, Brand Manager, said. The company has a manufacturing facility at Gurgaon to produce 3,000 trousers and 300 jackets a day. It recently expanded the capacity to turnout 4,000 trousers and 450 jackets a day. Blackberrys also plans to rollout a new premium collection B&B. Elaborating on the collection, Mr Chaudhry said the range is exclusively designed luxury trousers and "will be a true epitome of perfection". A fashion show is scheduled for December 8 in Chennai to unveil the collection. Blackberrys trousers are priced above Rs 1,000 and the new B&B collection will have a price tag upward of Rs 2,195.
