New Nabard board member

Mr K. Narasimha Murthy has been nominated as a member on the Board of Supervision of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard), Mumbai. The Board of Supervision is a high-powered body separate from the regular board of Nabard.

It reviews the inspection findings and give directions, guidance in respective agriculture credit system in India. It also oversees the functioning of district credit cooperative banks, state-level apex banks, regional rural banks, agricultural development banks, large mortgage banks etc. across the country. Mr Murthy, a Chartered Accountant, was earlier the Chairman of Expert Committee on Urban Cooperative Banks in Andhra Pradesh.
