Damodar Valley Corporation has formally launched its Web portal and e-mail with the objective of effectively exchanging data within and outside the organisation.

Inaugurating the portal, the corporation's Chairman, Mr A.K. Barman, said that it has established high-capacity MPLS-VPN among all its thermal power stations. This was established in collaboration with BSNL.

Arrangement for regular video-conferencing between all stations has also been done. He said it would improve productivity through access to current mission-critical data at lower costs.

About 80 per cent of all information would be within two mouse clicks of the front page, enabling all employees to easily call up information once the portal is in place.
