Maoists blast coffee pulping units

Visakhapatnam, Jan. 8

Maoists blasted two coffee pulping units in the agency (tribal) area of Visakhapatnam district on Saturday night in protest against the killing of two of their leaders in alleged fake encounters, according to the police sources here. The units belong to the Andhra Pradesh Forest Development Corporation.

Fifteen armed Maoists attacked the units on Saturday midnight. They also took away 250 bags of coffee beans, according to the police. The Maoists are planning bandh in the agency areas on January 10.
