Credit Market States - Kerala Banks disburse Rs 374 crore in Wayanad Our Bureau
Kochi, Jan. 7 Banks in Wayanad have disbursed Rs 374 crore under the priority sector during the first half of 2006-07. Out of this, Rs 318 crore was disbursed to the agricultural sector, Rs 3 crore to SSI and Rs 53 crore to other priority sectors, a press release issued here said.
GROWTH IN DISBURSEMENT
There has been a growth in disbursement to all these sectors, especially to the agricultural sector where the credit extension grew from Rs 221 crore to Rs 374 crore. The district also had a high credit-deposit ratio of 171 per cent at the end of September 2006, up from 154 per cent as on June 2005.
CD RATIO
This is the only district in the State that boasts a CD ratio over 100 per cent, the release said. Total deposits outstanding in the district as on September 2006 was Rs 821 while the outstanding loans totalled Rs 1,405 crore. The district level review committee meeting for banking development in the district reviewed the performance of banks during the first half of this fiscal.
