Kerala Garments to be revived

The State Government has initiated steps to revive Kerala Garments based in Kannur. A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting officials and trade union members convened here by the Industries Minister, Mr Elamaram Kareem. A majority of workers have left service after accepting retirement benefits. The remaining 26 workers have also agreed to accept a voluntary retirement scheme devised by the company, which is a subsidiary of Hanveev.
