This is with reference to "Revitalising the farm sector" (Business Line, June 2).

The need to review agriculture being in the State list is pertinent.

There is greater need now than ever before to define very clearly the role, responsibility and functions of the State and the Centre.

Can the Centre hold the State government accountable in the event that it does not carry out its role, functions and responsibilities?

While the ministers, bureaucrats, and other government staff are assured of food security, the farming community and the poor continue to languish.
