More adventure sports planned in Bangalore

Bangalore , Jan 8

Catamarans, fly fish, tubing, kayaking, parascending (where you parasail down and land on a boat). These are just few of the adventure sports that will be introduced in the State in the near future. Both corporates and others will have a variety of budget options and a range of activities from which to choose. All you need is the attitude.

"Trekking and adventure sports can change the way you look at life. However, many families refuse to spend on these activities. We need to work on educating parents about the benefits of such activities," said Mr R.M. Ray, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, speaking at a seminar on `The Great Outdoors of Karnataka.'

Karnataka, with its contrasting landscapes, can become a hub for adventure tourism in the country.

For those who have always wanted to fly, the dream will come true at Jakkur, where organisers are planning to offer a 20-minute ride for Rs 600. Other interesting activities include one-day treks, cycling and heritage walks.

Students will also continue to be the focus for nature enthusiasts.
