New Delhi , Jan. 8 Brushman India Ltd, marketers of global beauty, skin and haircare brands as well as manufacturer of paintbrushes, on Monday launched the UK-based £175-million global hairdressing brand Toni&Guy in India. "We are launching all the three ranges of Toni&Guy: the Red&White Signature range, Insights and a men's haircare brand, simultaneously in India, to be retailed through the various lifestyle retailing stores across the country. We are planning to invest a total of Rs 80 crore over the next three years to establish the brand here," said Mr Kapil Kumar, Managing Director, Brushman India Ltd. The products will be available in all the leading outlets such as Shoppers' Stop, Pantaloons, Westside, Lifestyle, Health & Glow, amongst others. Brushman is also evaluating possibilities of a joint venture with Toni&Guy to open about 100 salons in tier-I cities by 2010. It will also open two Toni&Guy hairdressing academies, one each in north and south India. "The roll out of the salons and the academies is going to be in a phased manner, with the first phase covering primarily the metros," Mr Kumar said. The salons will be in high street locations and specialised malls retailing premium fashion brands. On the target audience, Mr Paul Bulman, Toni&Guy, General Manager, Toni&Guy Products, said, "Our retail target group will be both the urban as well as the middle class with 80 per cent of our products within the range of Rs 150 and Rs 475. The salons are primarily for the premium class and would have an exclusive range of hair dressing products." On marketing the English brand, Mr Kumar said, "Brushman will invest around Rs 3 crore within the first six months with more to follow later. We would also be using a 360 degree approach to promote the brand, through the print media, point of purchase initiatives, fashion shows, television ads and so on." "We expect the retailing front to garner a turnover of around Rs 30 crore, the salons to clock a turnover of around Rs 100 crore in the next three years, from the India operations," Mr Kumar said.
