Dabur Pharma Ltd said on Tuesday it had bought out the entire oncology sales and distribution business of its Thailand-based partner Biosciences Co Ltd. The acquisition has been done through its wholly owned subsidiary in the country. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. "Acquiring the sales and distribution channel is another important step in the oncology-led growth strategy that we are actively pursuing," said the Chairman, Mr Anand Burman, in a statement.

Dabur said it currently has about 17 per cent of the generic drug market in Thailand, where the cancer drugs market is estimated to be growing at about 25 per cent.

On the deal, Mr Ajay Vij, COO, Dabur Pharma Ltd, said, "This acquisition is in line with the company's strategy of expanding its oncology foothold in the various markets it operates in."
