Developing strategy
The UK and Europe are developing a strong strategy for the demonstration and deployment of carbon abatement technologies including carbon capture and storage. The UK is also very active in developing the necessary legal and regulatory regime to encourage the deployment of CCS technology.
The UK experts will present the initial results of a study, which maps and analyses the potential for carbon dioxide storage in India commissioned by the International Energy Agency Greenhouse Gas R&D programme, in co-operation with the UK Department for Environment & Rural Affairs.
The workshop is organised by the National Geophysical Research Institute, Hyderabad, on behalf of the Department of Science and Technology.
