Minecode to set up R&D facility in Orissa

US-based IT and GIS service and solutions provider Minecode has said it would invest around Rs 20 crore in infrastructure and manpower in the domestic market. This includes setting up an R&D centre in Bhubaneswar and expanding its facility in Gurgaon.

The company plans to hire around 500 professionals initially this fiscal. "We have acquired 20 acres of land for the R&D facility which would start operations by April-May 2007,'' said Mr P. K. Samal, President and CEO, Minecode. The company plans to hire 200 professionals to add to the 160 professionals at its Gurgaon facility, he said.

Minecode's clients include Microsoft, AMD, Nike and Amazon among others. Within the country, it would focus on GIS technology-based solutions in the healthcare segment, disaster management and road accidents. The Seattle-based company has a turnover of $40 million.
