Coimbatore, Jan. 12

Central Bank of India employees across the country will strike work on January 22. This is in protest against what the unions call the management's attack on their rights, and unilateral changes in staff-related policies.

The United Forum of Central Bank Unions, representing all the eight unions and the entire workforce in the bank, has launched agitational programmes to resist such policies, Mr C.H. Venkatachalam, General Secretary, All India Central Bank Employees Federation, said in a release. He said the policies and settlements concerning the staff were being cancelled or modified without consulting the unions.
