EMC launches compliance products

NYSE listed EMC Corporation has announced the launch of its compliance solution products to help companies comply with the legislative requirements as per the Indian IT Act 2000, The Indian Evidence Act and the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

Its product Centera saves documents, records or information in the electronic form and claims that it ensures that the information remains the same once stored in it.

"EMC, with its solution in information lifecycle management and its portfolio of email archiving and content management solutions, can help organisations in the country address their immediate and future regulatory compliance needs," said Mr Manoj Chugh, President, EMC India and SAARC region. The company is primarily targeting the IT and manufacturing segments.

"Companies can leverage this solution to prove in the court of law that there was no tampering with the electronic data," said Mr Pavan Duggal, Advocate, Supreme Court on Cyber Laws.
