Rubber Spot rubber prices decline Aravindan
Kottayam , Jan. 16 Spot rubber witnessed all-round losses on Tuesday. The market was reacting to the weakness in Tokyo Commodity Exchange, which settled marginally down after Monday's bull domination. Sheet rubber closed at Rs 96 a kg against Rs 97 a kg both at Kottayam and Kochi lacking support from the consuming sector.
Futures down
The futures market moved down probably following the Japanese guidance amidst profit booking at higher levels on NMCE. The February contract slipped to Rs 100.41 (Rs 102.01), March to Rs 103.33 (Rs 104.94) and April contract to Rs 106.55 (Rs 107.89), while the May contract concluded the opening day at Rs 109.50 a kg for RSS 4. The transactions totalled 4,485 tonnes and open interest 9,304 tonnes. RSS 4 declined to Rs 101.32 (212tonnes) from Rs 102.68 a kg at its February delivery on MCX. The February futures for RSS 3 weakened to 252.3 Yen (Rs.93.00) against 253.8 Yen a kg at TOCOM. The grade closed at Rs 92.31 a kg at Bangkok spot. Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: Rs 96 (Rs 97); RSS-5: Rs 92 (Rs 93); ungraded: Rs 86.75 (Rs 87.50); ISNR 20: Rs 89 (Rs 90) and latex 60 per cent: Rs 64.20 (Rs 64.20).
