Indus Fila plans unit at Hindupur

Indus Fila Ltd, the flagship company of Mandhana Enterprises, Bangalore, is setting up a Rs 60-crore plant in Hindupur, Andhra Pradesh. The foundation stone for the unit was laid by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy here on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Nithin Mandhana, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the company, said, "The plant in Hindupur will definitely enhance our current production capacity of 25,000 pieces garments per day to 55,000 pieces per day."

The unit will generate employment for over 8,000 people directly and indirectly in two years. "We have planned to install 2,000 machines, including garmenting and washing machines," he said.

Mr Mandhana said the unit would also facilitate the training of operators from neighbouring districts.

Indus Fila Ltd is a multi-location, multi-product textile and apparel enterprise.

The company is setting up a centre of excellence spread over 20 acres on the outskirts of Bangalore.
