Kolkata, Jan. 16

AMRI on Tuesday launched eastern India's first world-class Urology Department in a joint venture with RG Stone Urological Institute, says a press release.

One-of-its-kind in the region, the facility has been equipped with FDA-approved Siemens Lithotripsy with ultrasound & X-ray attachment, 100-watt holmium laser, endo-urology for MINI PCNL, URS and other urology procedures.

This, says the release, is an endeavour to provide patients in eastern India with a revolutionary technology that conforms to global standards and medical facilities that are at par with top medical institutes worldwide. Urological care in India took a giant step forward in 1986 with the establishment of R G Stone in Mumbai, the country's first super-speciality urological institute. R G Stone has treated over 40,000 patients from within the country and abroad, adds the release.
