Edible oil meet to showcase latest technology

The Solvent Extractors' Association of India (SEA), a premier association of vegetable oil industry is organising the "6th National Seminar on Technology Upgradation in Vegetable Oil Industry" jointly with the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), here on January 19 and 20.

In a press release, the SEA said it gave importance to the use of the innovative trends in technology in the existing vegetable oil industrial set up which helps in overall growth of vegetable oil industry.

Interactive session

The seminar intends to expose the vegetable oil industry to the latest technologies developed by R&D organisations.

There will be an interactive session between the industry and research organisations, in which the industry can spell out what exactly it was expecting from the R&D Institutes.

The vegetable oil industry cannot compete globally, unless the R&D institutes and the industry join hands to achieve "excellence" in every aspect of processing and value addition, the release said.

Dr B. Sesikeran, Director, National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad will inaugurate the seminar.

About 250 delegates from the industry and scientists from IICT and other institutes, as well as invitees from India and abroad would participate in the seminar.
