Aviva Life Insurance and IndusInd Bank have tied up as bancassurance partners. The life insurer now has 30 bank partnerships and has increased its presence to 497 locations.

A press release quoting Mr Bert Paterson, Managing Director, Aviva Life Insurance, said, "The bancassurance channel contributes close to 65 per cent of Aviva's business in India. With this strategic tie-up with IndusInd Bank, Aviva has found a partner with an extensive distribution reach thus further strengthening our position in the market."

IndusInd Bank will sell Aviva products like LifeLong, SaveGuard, SaveGuard Junior, EasyLife Plus and Pensions Plus to bank customers in the first phase. The partnership will be on a referral type business model.

In the first nine months of the current fiscal, Aviva has raked in new business premium (calculated by the annualised premium equivalent method) of Rs 467 crore, a growth of 105 per cent from the previous year.
