The 48th National Cost Convention of the Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India (ICWAI) will be held in Hyderabad on January 18-20.

Dr C. Rangarajan, Chairman, Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister, would inaugurate the meet with the focal theme of `Accelerating economic growth-unlocking value by management accountants'.

Professionals from across the country would participate in the three-day convention, which broadly would discuss four areas - infrastructure, IT & ITES, retail industry and biotechnology, according to Mr Dhananjay Vishnu Joshi, President of the ICWAI.

Talking to newspersons here, he said the institute was getting in tune with the global management accountancy bodies to give its members greater opportunities. The Southern India Regional Council of ICWAI and the Hyderabad Chapter are jointly organising the event.

SPEAKERS

Mr Paul Sharman, President & CEO, Institute of Management Accountants of the US; Mr B. Ramalinga Raju, Chairman, Satyam Computer Services; and Mr V.G. Narayanan, Professor, Harvard Business School, are expected to speak at the convention.

The conference is also expected to lay down the broad framework of sector specific issues and highlight the integration of the management accounting profession in tune with the user requirement, the ICWAI Chief said.
