To focus on exchange programmes

The two institutions will design and host an international study programme for their students.

Ahmedabad , Jan. 18

The New York-based Columbia Business School (CBS), a premier institution of graduate-level business studies, and the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A), today announced a partnership that will initially focus on student exchange programmes and gradually help them grow as global business leaders.

This partnership is another step towards CBS' goal of deepening its relationship with India.

The two institutions will design and host an international study programme for their students.

The two institutions anticipate that the partnership will also include sharing corporate case studies as well as the possibility of collaboration on new case development through faculty exchanges and fresh research.

"The proposed exchange of students, faculty and ideas will re-enforce our allied interests and provide a broader understanding of the global nature of business for students from both the institutions," said Dr Bakul Dholakia, Director, IIM-A.

In collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry, CBS will host a discussion with business and government leaders in New Delhi tomorrow.

International meet

CBS will also host a series of events focused on India.

In March, the business school's executive MBA programme will host its first international seminar `Building and Managing Customer Relationships' in Mumbai.

In the US, the South Asia Business Association of CBS will host `India Unleashed', its third Annual India Business Conference, on April 6, to discuss India's growth, success, and challenges.
