Opinion - Letters
Primary education

The President wants a revolution in the field of education.

He recently advocated that primary education syllabus be changed to make it more creative and that children not be required to carry school bags.

Taking that thought further, children should be sent to schools only three days a week. The rest of the time they should stay at home, go places and explore their surroundings. The present six-day week only makes children think of school a burden.

One hopes the educational authorities will take serious note of the President's advice and implement his suggestions at least with regard to pre-primary children, who carry heavy bags to school everyday.
