European bank signs pact to offer expertise

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding to "cooperate in tapping synergies in various spheres of activities," at the CII Partnership Summit 2007.

As per the MoU, which was signed by Mr Jean Lemierre, EBRD President, and Lt Gen (Retd) S.S. Mehta, Director-General - CII, EBRD will lend its experience and expertise to CII member organisations exploring business opportunities in its areas of operation, namely Central and Eastern Europe, Commonwealth of Independent States and Mongolia. At the session on `India-Singapore: Roadmap for the future' an MoU was signed between Nanyang Technological University and CII in the presence of the Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr Kamal Nath, and the Foreign Minister of Singapore, Mr George Yong-Boon Yeo.
