Leather Liberty Shoes Q3 net profit at Rs 5 cr Our Bureau
Kolkata , Jan. 18 Liberty Shoes Ltd, for the quarter ended December 31, 2006, has registered a net profit of Rs 5 crore. The footwear company has achieved a turnover of Rs 67.9 crore, a growth of 23 per cent, over the Rs 55.9 crore recorded during the corresponding quarter of 2005-06. According to an official release by the company here on Thursday, the EPS for the said quarter was at Rs 2.96. The company has completed the expansion of manufacturing capacities at Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal, the tax incentives areas, on schedule and has commenced commercial operations. The enhanced capacities, according to the company, will double existing production capacities to meet the growing demand. Foot-Mart Retail India Ltd (FMRIL), the company's joint venture with Pantaloon, is planning to add eight more mega stores to its existing chain in 2007-08. Liberty, which features in the list of the world's top five manufacturers of leather footwear, has a turnover in excess of Rs 350 crore, and produces more than 75,000 pairs of footwear a day with a range that's said to be among the largest in the industry.
