Opinion - Letters
Farm land acquisition

This is with reference to "Land mines" (Business Line, January 19).

The Government should appoint a land and water reforms commission to thoroughly review the positive and negative impact of the laws, policies, programmes and funds allocated and how they have affected the owners, farmers, landless labourers, share-croppers, and tenant farmers.

It should evolve a user- friendly policy in the light of farm sector/rural development, and one that is based on the principle of equity.
