Chennai Jan. 19 Air France plans to set up a joint call centre for Air France and KLM in Delhi in April or May to service the Indian market. This call centre will handle reservations, claims and frequent flier programmes.

This would be the third call centre in the Asia-Pacific region, with the other two being in Sydney and Guangzhou, China.

Air France increased its capacity out of India by 27 per cent in October 2006. Together, Air France and KLM now offer 42 weekly frequencies (36 last year) to Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai.

Mr Pierre-Henri Gourgeon, President and COO, Air France, said that the Indian market hadconsistently shown double-digit growth for the past three years. Passengers load factors in this month were about 90 per cent, he said.

The airline planned to increase its flights out of India, which has emerged as one of the two most important markets in the Asia Pacific region (the other one being China).
