Chennai Jan. 19 Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd (Orchid) has reported a turnover of Rs 238.73 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2006 compared with Rs 237.60 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year.

Gross profit before interest, depreciation and tax stood at Rs 78.11 crore against Rs 69.76 crore, a growth of 12 per cent.

Profit before tax was Rs 31.28 crore against Rs 28.95 crore. Net profit after tax stood at Rs 28.32 crore against Rs 28.96 crore.

Orchid's turnover for the nine months ended December 31, 2006 stood at Rs 686.17 crore compared with Rs 647.18 crore registered during the corresponding period of last fiscal.
