Exide Industries Q3 PAT up 62 pc

Kolkata Jan. 19 During the third quarter ended December 31, 2006, Exide Industries Ltd posted a 35 per cent increase in turnover at Rs 577.78 crore from Rs 428.35 crore and 62 per cent rise in profit after tax at Rs 34.85 crore from Rs 21.54 crore over the corresponding period of the previous year, according to a press release issued by the company. The earning per share during the period was 60 paise (30 paise).

Cumulatively, in first nine months of the current fiscal (April to December, 2006-07), the turnover at Rs 1,710.98 crore ( Rs 1,271.37 crore) showed a growth of 35 per cent and profit after tax at Rs 116.7 crore (Rs 74.84 crore) a growth of 56 per cent.
