Chennai, Jan. 21

Driven by the acute shortage of talent for voice-based BPOs, Chennai- based Allsec Technologies is planning to tie up with arts, science and engineering colleges to design a curricula that stresses on communication and language skills.

According to Mr R. Vaithiyanathan, Vice-President, Operations and Human Resources, Allsec Technologies, of every 100 candidates interviewed, only four are found employable in voice- based BPOs. "This is a concern for not just BPO companies but also IT and ITES companies," he said. The company is initially planning to tie up with about 20 colleges in Chennai. Colleges in other cities such as Coimbatore and Madurai would be looked at later this year, he said.
