Hyderabad Jan. 21 Fifty years after the all-time hit `Mayabazar', Mr Singeetham Srinivasa Rao, a well-known film director from the South, is now working on `Ghatothkach', a full-length multi-lingual animation film based on the storyline of the original movie.

Produced by the Hyderabad-based Sun Animatics India Private Ltd, the film targets children.

"We have taken the storyline from Mayabazar. But we have improved upon it by focussing on the childhood of Ghatothkacha. At least 50 per cent of the movie will be on his childhood," Mr Srinivasa Rao, who was the city in connection with the production of the movie, told Business Line.

Interestingly, Mr Srinivasa Rao, who started his film career with Mayabazar as an assistant director, is himself rendering music for the film.

RELEASE IN APRIL

The 100-minute movie scheduled for release in April, will be released in

Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Telugu.

Mr Srinivasa Rao, known for his experimental pictures such as Pushpak with Kamal Hassan, used high-end graphic facilities in the Philippines, Singapore and the UK to make the 2-D film.

Producers roped in popular Punjabi pop star, Mr Daler Mahendi, and noted lyricist Sameer for the film.
