Paper, Board & Newsprint JK Paper Q2 net up 28 pc Our Bureau
The company's Q2 net sales also went up by 29 per cent to Rs 203.58 crore from Rs 157.82 crore in the corresponding quarter previous year, according to a company release. The half-year net profit increased by 24.55 per cent for the period ending December 31, 2006, to Rs 21.86 crore from Rs 17.55 crore in the corresponding period last year. Mr Harsh Pati Singhania, Managing Director, JK Paper Ltd said, "Sales quantities of branded copier paper grew by 39 per cent on a year-on-year basis. High-end coater paper also grew by 62 per cent. Due to these increased volumes, the company has been able to derive better economies of scale and reduce its manufacturing cost on coater paper." The company also said that it had increased the prices of the various segments of paper it manufactured during the quarter.
