Rubber Spot rubber prices toe global uptrend Our Correspondent
Covering groups and purchase agents bought at the prevailing rates. Traders and growers were more confident to hold the stocks since the peak production season is at its fag end.
Futures firm
Rubber futures continued to rule firm though profit booking pruned the gains partially in the afternoon session. On NMCE, February contracts improved to Rs 101.94 ( 101.48); March to Rs 104.70 ( 104.47 ); April to Rs 108.81 (108.34) and May contract to Rs 112.70 (111.68 ) a kg for RSS 4. The February delivery contract for RSS 4 finished at Rs 102.75 against Rs 101.92 a kg (296 lots) on MCX. The February futures for RSS 3 recovered to 256.4 yen (Rs.93.40 ) from 252.2 Yen a kg at TOCOM. RSS 3 (spot) closed firm at Rs 96.90 a kg against Rs 94.94 at Bangkok. Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 98 ( 97); RSS-5 : 94 (93); ungraded : 89.50 (88); ISNR 20 : 90(89.50) and latex 60% : 65.25 (64.70).
