Vijayawada, Jan 23

A 22 HP low-cost tractor called Angad was released in the market by SAS Motors Ltd on Tuesday. On the occasion, Mr Gautam Das, Executive Vice-President, said that the company would market the tractor through a network of 300 dealers in the country, seven of them in Andhra Pradesh. The tractor would cost Rs 1.5-1.6 lakh, compared to 35 HP tractors currently available in the market that cost more than Rs 4 lakh. "Only five per cent of the farmers in the country own tractors, as the price and the maintenance are too high," he said.
