Bilcare signs pact with Honeywell

Mumbai Jan. 24 Pharmaceutical packaging solutions company Bilcare Ltd has signed a regional developmental collaboration with Honeywell International's specialty films business for drug packaging products.

"This partnership shall help provide modern high performance materials for ensuring the safety of sensitive drugs. By integrating our expertise, we will be able to generate application based novel packaging systems for the pharma sector," said Mr Mohan Bhandari, Chairman and Managing Director, Bilcare Ltd.

Honeywell will sell its Aclar brand of packaging film to Bilcare.

"This collaboration demonstrates our commitment to working with key partners to develop new applications for our Aclar high barrier material specifically designed for pharmaceuticals," said Mr Rick Knight, Global Business Manager for Honeywell's healthcare films business.

Honeywell has a similar agreement with the Associated Capsules group in India. No financial details were disclosed.

Shares of Bilcare fell 1.68 per cent to close at Rs 589.10 on the BSE.
