New Delhi Jan. 24 Rupees 100 crore, 40 cameramen shooting across 200 locations on earth, in the sky and under water — that's what it takes to create a definite portrait of Planet Earth for television. Discovery Channel will premiere the documentary that took five years to make in India on February 1.

This 11-part series has narration by legendary natural historian Sir David Attenborough.

Discovery is excited about bringing this film to Indian audiences before it makes its US premiere. "Using a budget of unprecedented proportions, high definition photography and unique filming techniques, Planet Earth will take the audience to experience sights and sounds that they may never experience again," said Mr Deepak Shourie, Executive Vice-President and Managing Director, Discovery Networks India.
