Tata Power, Chhattisgarh ink MoU

Tata Power Company has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Chhattisgarh Government for a 1,000-MW plant in the State. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 5,000 crore. This project will require approximately 1,200-1,300 acres, said a news release from the company. A preliminary feasibility study has identified Raipur district as suitable for the plant. A detailed feasibility study is in progress, said Tata Power.

The company was recently awarded a letter of intent for a 4,000-MW ultra mega power project at Mundra in Gujarat. It has signed MoUs with the governments of Orissa and Maharashtra for projects of 1,000 MW and 2,000 MW respectively.
