New Delhi Jan. 24 Reacting to the Tata Group Chairman, Mr Ratan Tata's accusation that competitors were fuelling controversy over its small-car project at Singur in West Bengal, Maruti on Wednesday said the Tatas should come forward with the name of the competitor.

``I don't know which competitor he is talking about. Since he has the knowledge, he should tell it,'' the Maruti Udyog Managing Director and CEO, Mr Jagdish Khattar, told newspersons here.

Asked about Mr Tata's comments that he suspected hands of competitors in the controversy, Mr Khattar said, ``we don't do all these things (scuttling a rival's project). We believe in healthy competition.''

This is not the first time that the two major car makers are embroiled in a public sparring. Last year, Mr Osamu Suzuki, Chief Executive, Suzuki Motor Corp, had said that the Tata project was not feasible at such a price.
