Roadways States - Tamil Nadu Asia MotorWorks opens outlet at Namakkal Our Bureau
Mr Anirudh Bhuwalka, MD & CEO, Asia MotorWorks said the transport sector was witnessing sustained growth because of industrial development and the impetus given by the government to infrastructure development, particularly the launch of highway projects such as Golden Quadrilateral and the NSEW corridors. As the Namakkal belt accounted for around 60 per cent of the south Indian market in the HCV segment, he saw substantial business potential for Asia MotorWorks' Global Truck series. He said the company has already established sales and service operations in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh and planned to establish warehouses for spare parts in the southern and northern markets. The trucks feature higher horsepower, gearboxes with higher torque capabilities, axles with greater load carrying capacity, cabins with greater safety and superior ergonomics. Mr R.C. Mangal, VP - Marketing, Asia MotorWorks Ltd said around 500 AMW vehicles were on the roads. The company had 21 main dealers with 26 branches across the country and is establishing a nationwide network for sales, service and spares comprising 30 main dealers and 450 sub-dealers. Asia MotorWorks specialises in the design and manufacture of high tonnage vehicles on a hybrid platform.
