Thiruvananthapuram Jan. 25 Chennai-based Khazana Jewellery is planning an international foray over the next few months.

Addressing a meeting organised to announce the launch of the company's exclusive outlet in Thiruvananthapuram, Mr Kishore Jain, Managing Director, Khazana Jewellery, said that retail outlets are initially planned in Colombo and Dhaka.

Also on the cards are Khazana outlets in Singapore and Dubai. The company plans to have at least three international outlets by next year, he added.

In India, the company plans to open five new outlets across the Southern states over the next two-three months, Mr Jain said. Including its new store in Thiruvananthapuram, the company now has nine outlets in six cities.

New stores are planned in Mangalore, Tirupati, Madurai, Tiruchirapalli and Coimbatore, he added. The company currently has manufacturing facilities in Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Rajkot and Coimbatore.

Responding to a query, he said that the company has not taken a decision on its expansion in Kerala.

The company opened the store in Thiruvananthapuram after extensive research into consumer buying habits and patterns, he added.
