Hyderabad Jan. 25 Gayatri Project Ltd has earned a net profit of Rs 8.54 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2006 — a rise of 117.89 per cent over the Rs 3.92 crore achieved in the comparative quarter of the previous year.

The sales turnover touched Rs 153.08 crore (Rs 99.84 crore). The EPS stood at Rs 8.54 for the quarter.

The company, which recently came up with an IPO, has received in-principle approval for Rs 820 crore towards term loan for two major annuity-based projects in Uttar Pradesh, against the requirement of Rs 459.57 crore.

According to Mr T.V. Sandeep Kumar Reddy, Managing Director, the company has an order book of Rs 2,500 crore on date. While road projects constituted Rs 1,800 crore, irrigation projects accounted for Rs 600 crore and the rest were minor infrastructure projects.
