MRF Ltd has reported a net profit of Rs 28.96 crore on sales of Rs 1,207.93 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2006.

During the corresponding period in the previous year, the company reported a net profit of Rs 13.92 crore on sales of Rs 934.35 crore. Profit before tax was Rs 43.14 crore (Rs 21.95 crore), interest Rs 11.12 crore (Rs 10.18 crore) and provision for tax Rs 14.18 crore (Rs 8.03 crore).
