Outsourcing Amtex Info to invest Rs 22 cr in BPO biz Our Bureau
This is in addition to the Rs 100 crore the company will spend on creating a campus that will include an IT infrastructure development and testing facility. When completed, the campus would have a built-up area of about 6 lakh sq ft (6,000 seats). According to Mr Sunny Pokala, President, Amtex Systems, the BPO will provide end-to-end IT solutions. "There is demand for bundled solutions (combination of backend and front-end solutions) today and with the BPO offering we can capitalise on this market," he said. It current services include IT infrastructure, application development, remote IT infrastructure management, testing and consulting. The company has set up a 300-seat BPO facility at Siruseri near Chennai. The BPO business (voice and non-voice) will initially focus on existing clients in verticals such as healthcare, banking and financial services, insurance, telecom and market research. Amtex Systems plans to increase its headcount in India to 2,500 from the present 1,000.
