HPCL-Visakha erects CCR system

Visakhapatnam, Jan. 27

As a part of its clean fuels project, the HPCL-Visakha refinery here has safely completed the erection of the CCR cyclemax regeneration system and the CCR reactor, according to a press release issued here by the company. The Rs 2,147-crore clean fuels project is intended to produce Euro II and Euro III fuels. The CCR system was erected by Technip KT India Ltd in five pre-fabricated modules, weighing 420 tonnes, and the height of the structure is 72 metres. It is one of the tallest structures in the refinery. The CCR reactor was fabricated by the public sector Bharat Heavy Plate and Vessels Ltd at a cost of Rs 12.74 crore. It weighs 140 tonnes and is 53 metre tall with a diameter of 2.2 metre. The erection work was carried out by Bridge & Roof Ltd. It will enable the refinery to produce motor spirit with ultra low sulphur. The operation was supervised by Mr A.S. Rao, Executive Director, Mr R.M.N. Marar, General Manager, Projects, Mr P.A.B Raju, General Manager, Operations, and other officials at the refinery.
