The Hindu Business Line : SMEs bag Corporation Bank award

Corporation Bank has awarded small and medium enterprises, "National SME Excellence Award", for promoting entrepreneurship in the country. "Liberalisation of Indian economy has seen many successful first generation entrepreneurs emerging who have responded to the competition and made their mark," said Mr Pawan Kumar Bansal, Union Minister of State for Finance, at the awards ceremony. "The Government is committed to extend its full support for the accelerated growth of the SME sector and public sector banks have a significant role to play," he added.

Corporation Bank has instituted awards in food and agro-based processing, textiles and apparels, auto components, drugs and pharmaceuticals, among others.
