Vyas Giannetti Creative Sports to handle cricket tournament

Mumbai Jan. 29 Vyas Giannetti Creative Sports (VGCS) will be handling the Communication Arts Guild Shield cricket tournament, the agency said in a statement on Monday.

The tournament was started 20 years ago to bring the advertising and media world together through sport. The first ball of the 45-day event will be bowled on February 3, with matches being played every Saturday at selected venues in Mumbai. There will be 16 teams participating in the tournament: O&M, Group M, LOWE, Percept Advertising, Ad factors, Bates India, Rediffusion DY&R, R.K. Swamy BBDO Advertising, Ambience, Interactive Avenues, Contract Advertising, Vyas Giannetti Creative, Euro RSCG/MPG, Madison, Network and Law & Kenneth. "The main challenge we envisage now is to ensure the younger generation not only upholds the spirit of the tournament but carries on the traditions of the CAG Shield for generations to come," said Mr Anand Yalvigi, Business Head, VGCS, in a statement.
